We helped a broad audience of policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and global citizens access critical health information in 30 regions and 6 languages via a mobile app with international input. In only 10 weeks, we combined 3 outdated apps into one with a unified user experience and modern, performant and intuitive design.
The application’s success was enormous as its launch was perfectly timed – just at the start of the pandemic. This resulted in 500,000 downloads and a rating of 4.2+ within the first weeks.
Challenge
The public was hungry for timely health-related information, particularly in the age of Covid-19. One global organization specializing in distributing such information was looking to extend its reach by making it easier to access health-related digital content through a modernized mobile app. While the company’s website serves a global audience and information is available in 6 languages, the site was not optimized for mobile devices.
Solution
Resolute Software developed the new mobile application from scratch. Built on NativeScript, the app leverages Progress Sitefinity CMS for ongoing content updates. As the NativeScript framework is not as mature and has several limitations, Resolute’s developers had to overcome numerous technical challenges. However, Resolute completed the first version in ten weeks as a result of a rapid development cycle.
