4 Years Strong: How Our Focus on Culture and People-First Principles Helped Us Grow and Thrive

At the beginning of April, Resolute celebrated its fourth trip around the sun. Looking back, we are proud to have made significant progress in every aspect. We doubled the team, moved to a bigger, brighter office space, and fulfilled our most ambitious business goals.

However, if success is normally determined by factors such as financial performance, market share or brand reputation, we narrow it down to one single focal point – the people. Year after year, we see growing numbers, but the most we care about is happy faces. So, it is no secret that our company’s compelling success stems from its backbone.

Resolute Software is a Three-Time “People First Company” Award Winner

Over the past four years, we have made significant strides in creating a culture that fosters freedom, autonomy, career growth, relationships, and social support. Being recognized as a winner of the “People First Company” Award in all rankings that Heartcount has ever conducted (in 2019, 2020, 2022) is yet another proof that we follow the same direction without any deviation since Resolute was first established.

We prioritize happiness as a fundamental value, a key performance indicator and a uniting cultural trait within all companies part of Ocean Investments’ family. This helps us build great long-term relationships with both our colleagues and partners.

A Culture Built Around Happiness

As a team, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the past four years. Our key objective was to attract and retain the most exceptional talent on the market in Resolute, and we have successfully accomplished that goal. So, when asked about our biggest achievement, we can’t help but beam with pride about the culture we’ve built and the amazing work environment we’ve created.

As we recently won the “People-First Company” Award for the third time, we think there is one key reason behind our success: Our people are our top priority.

We genuinely care about our team’s well-being, both on the personal and professional levels. We make it our mission to understand how our team members feel, and we’re always there to lend a helping hand when needed. We started using Heartcount’s happiness assessment tools with that goal in mind. It’s a fantastic way to know immediately who may need assistance and offer it without delay.

“Resolute won its first "People-First Company” Award during its inaugural year. We had no idea we were participating in any rankings, we started measuring how people feel, so we can know and provide support accordingly. That was our motivation. Winning the award came as a big surprise at the end of the year and confirmed once again that if you do things right, recognition will naturally follow.” - says Hristo and he adds:

“We're thrilled to see that even as we've doubled in size over the last year, we have kept the culture evolving in the right direction. It is never easy to do that when you are scaling up. That is surely a testament to our core values and our unwavering commitment to the people.”

Maintaining our company culture with such rapid growth has been a challenge, but we believe that the secret to our success lies in staying true to our values. We never compromise, even when it might be tempting to take shortcuts to achieve a certain objective.

Our ideology is different from that of many other companies. We believe that everything happens when the time is right. We don’t rush into decisions or actions, even if it means taking a little longer to get to where we want to be. Our company culture is never static - it’s always evolving. The key is to ensure that it evolves in the right direction.

We Do It in the Resolute Way

We believe that cultivating a happy company culture starts with our recruitment process. While skills and experience are certainly important, we are very careful in selecting the right people who share our values and can fit in with our team. We recognize that our culture is what sets us apart from competitors and we work hard to protect it.

When we’re looking to hire someone, we take the time to get to know them and learn about their personality, work ethic, and values. We ask them questions about how they work in a team, and how they prioritize their work. We want prospective colleagues to have a clear understanding of our values, our expectations, and the kind of work environment they’ll be experiencing.

Apart from that, we place a strong emphasis on physical health and wellness. We’re a sports-oriented team and mutual participation in sports events is an inseparable part of our work culture. Recently, we entered a monthly challenge with a famous calisthenics and movement coach who helped us “grease the groove” with a simple yet super-effective workout during the day. We also have regular “Personal Development Talks” where we discuss different topics that help us grow as individuals. We walk the talk – see how we do it in the resolute way on our TikTok.

By providing opportunities for personal growth and promoting physical and mental health, we’re able to keep our team members motivated and productive. It’s all part of our commitment to creating a supportive and engaging work environment where our team members can thrive.

4 the Win!

This year’s birthday party on April 4th at 4 p.m. was an absolute blast! We raised a glass to 4 incredible years of Resolute Software, and 1 truly happy team. We celebrated our success with cosmos cocktails, purple tiramisus, and a cosmically delicious cake in the shape of the number 4.

As we look to the future, we’re excited to continue pushing ourselves to new heights while staying true to the values and principles that have made us successful. We’re focused on expanding our presence in Western European and American markets while continuing to solve complex problems and building new client relationships. With a strong commitment to our team members and a focus on happiness, we’re confident that Resolute will continue to thrive in the years to come.
