Stabilizing and scaling mission-critical MOVEit environments for a large U.S. healthcare enterprise

Services included:

  • MOVEit Enterprise 360
  • MOVEit Automation
  • MOVEit Transfer
  • Performance monitoring

A large U.S.-based healthcare organization supporting hospitals nationwide relied on MOVEit Automation as a core backend platform for high-volume, recurring file transfers. These workflows supported healthcare and financial processes and operated continuously on short execution cycles, making reliability, security, and operational continuity essential.

Resolute was engaged to support MOVEit environments through assessment, modernization, and ongoing operational support, helping the client stabilize systems and plan for future improvements.

Challenge

The client’s MOVEit environments presented several operational and technical challenges:

  • Some environments were 7–8 years behind supported MOVEit versions, requiring complex, multi-step upgrade paths
  • High operational scale, with approximately 200 automated tasks executing every five minutes, transferring large volumes of data
  • Strict healthcare security constraints, preventing direct access to production systems and requiring guided, over-the-shoulder execution
  • Coordination required across multiple internal teams for database, infrastructure, and application changes

These factors increased the complexity of upgrades, maintenance, and day-to-day operations.

Solution

Resolute prepared and executed a structured upgrade approach by recreating MOVEit environments internally, validating upgrade paths across versions, and delivering detailed runbooks for guided, secure execution within the client’s restricted environment. Following modernization, the client transitioned to MOVEit Enterprise 360°, a managed service providing ongoing support, proactive monitoring, performance analysis, and advisory guidance, including support for scaling configurations, AWS-related initiatives, disaster recovery planning, and the introduction of failover capabilities.
